Project Overview:
Our team successfully completed the selective demolition of a 9,000 sqft structural pool deck, showcasing our expertise in managing complex and high-stakes projects. This project required not only the removal of concrete elements but also the transformation of the pool area to facilitate future enhancements by our sitework team.
The selective demolition process was carefully planned and executed, involving the use of specialized equipment to handle the removal of outdoor features and the topping deck. Given the need to adhere to specific weight restrictions, as the deck was still under tension at the time, we employed a strategic approach to mitigate risk and ensure precision. Once the structural post-tension deck was properly de-tensioned, our team meticulously dismantled the deck, minimizing disruption to the surrounding infrastructure.
To elevate the project, we efficiently removed over 100 loads of dirt from the pool area using heavy machinery, a critical step in establishing a 7-foot crawl space beneath the pool deck. This extensive excavation was vital for the structural integrity and future development of the site. Additionally, we implemented strategically placed dirt berms around the job site and beneath the existing condominium structure to prevent erosion throughout the ongoing construction process.
